Booking policy: Bookings are non-refundable but are transferable (ONE date change is accepted). Minimum numbers are required for courses to go ahead. If sufficient numbers are not available, the course will be cancelled and tickets may be transferred to a future course. In special circumstances money will be refunded.
Mental Health First Aid Course (MHFA)
The Standard Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course will teach you how to provide initial support to other adults who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence based Action Plan. This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.
Mental health problems covered: Depression, Anxiety problems, Psychosis, Substance use problems
Mental health crises covered: Suicidal thoughts and behaviours, Non-suicidal self-injury, Panic attacks, Traumatic events, Severe psychotic states, Severe effects from alcohol or other drug use, Aggressive behaviours.
Note: This course is not a therapy or a support group.

Anyone and everyone! Any adult would benefit from doing this course.
For Individuals: Public courses are scheduled throughout the year. Upcoming courses are below. If you’d like to put in an expression of interest for a particular time of the year, particular day, please get in touch here.
For Groups, Workplaces or Organisations: For a group the minimum size recommended is 10 (can be as small as 6), maximum is 26.

What is the format?
There are a few ways MHFA can be delivered:
2 x Full day sessions (with time for breaks), can be delivered either consecutive days or with up to 2 weeks gap (i.e. a Monday one week, then the second day delivered the next Monday or a fortnight after)
4 x 3 hour sessions
Online (COMING SOON) - includes self-directed learning and then 2 x 2.5 hour sessions delivered via Zoom
