The Standard Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course will teach you how to provide initial support to other adults who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence based Action Plan. This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.

Three 60 minute sessions, delivered in person or virtually.

What we’ll cover:Session 1: Release & ReviewAn open discussion of the challenges you may be facing and identifying primary areas to focus on.
Session 2: Thoughts & ActionsReview the challenges and identify what actions can be taken or what information for further support may be required.
Session 3: Reflection & ReferralsReflect on actions, assess what referrals may be suitable, assess if any improvements or relieving of any stress has been achieved.

Access to this program is currently free to hospitality and tourism businesses, thanks to the Tasmanian Hospitality Association and the Tasmanian Department of State Growth. Those outside of the industry, please enquire direct. -
Who’s it for:
Ideal for any leaders such as managers, supervisors, business owners, operators, small to large employers, team leaders, etc.
Structure:
45-90 minutes per session, delivered in person or virtually.
Time and location:
Negotiated with Bianca (if you’re not located in Tasmania, we can travel to you).

- The business case and ROI;
- The facts and statistics of mental illness and mental health;
- The Bio-Psycho-Social model of psychology;
- How this model applies in the workplace;
- Examples and case studies specific to the industry;
- Practical advice for implementation of broad policies for your workplace.

Structure:
Delivered in person or virtually (if you’re not located in Tasmania, we can travel to you). The duration can be negotiated with Bianca.

- Leadership and resilience;
- Mental health in the workplace;
- The bio-psycho-social model of psychology;
- The Business Case for having a mentally healthy workplace;
- Personal experience including workplace case studies and first-hand personal experience;
