Day 2 of 2: The 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course teaches adults (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis. Delivered over 2 x days, participants must attend both days to become accredited/complete the course.

Bianca is an experienced business professional with over 16 years in the hospitality industry and over a decades experience of owning and running her own business.
Having experienced a number of mental health challenges and illnesses within the workplace she was eager to learn more about the mind and psychology and completed a Bachelor of Behavioural Science at UTAS in 2018 after 7 years of part time study alongside running her businesses. She is a mental health consultant and mentor and has been a Mental Health First Aid instructor since June 2021. She has many years of personal and professional experience in the area of mental health and illness including experience with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, suicide, baby loss and more.
Passionate about supporting people through mental illness and poor mental health, Bianca believes it is important to upskill and continuously learn as leaders and work towards mentally healthy workplaces, as well as knowing how to be supportive and as empathetic as we can in our everyday lives.
Education is a key step towards breaking down stigmas. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an excellent way of further educating yourself, but also to learn practical tools and skills to assist someone in need. MHFA is a vital part of the prevention and early intervention the mental health of our country needs.

Thanks to the Tasmanian Hospitality Association (THA) this course is FREE! The only stipulation is - you must be from a tourism or hospitality venue.
To receive accreditation (of completion) of the course you must attend both days.
A light lunch will be provided, please email any dietary requirements through when reserving your spot.

Carl Windsor is a restaurateur with over 20 years experience and has recently become a MHFA instructor. Carl has lived experience with mental illness.
